Colton Orr's Fan Shootout answers

Dennis Lewis from Orillia, Ont., asks Have you ever run into a player in a social situation shortly after fighting him on the ice?

Always. You'll see a guy in a social situation or when you get traded. But what happens on the ice stays on the ice. I'm friends with a lot of guys I've fought.

Zac Rasmussen from Kamloops, B.C., asks What was your favorite part of playing in Kamloops?

It was a really good city with great fans. A great junior hockey town.

Clint Bauer from Buffalo asks How hard was it to make the NHL after going undrafted and what did you do to get there?

It was hard. I started skating at age 11, so I did a lot of extra work to get here.

Keigan Sack from Shubenacadie, N.S., asks If you could fight anybody from the NHL's past, who would it be?

Bob Probert. He was a brawler and someone I watched while growing up.

Mike McCarthy from New Fairfield, Ct., asks What has been your career highlight so far?

Playing for the New York Rangers and scoring my first NHL goal.

Derek Creppin from Ottawa asks Do you study other fighters like goalies study shooters?

Not too much, but I do recognize who they are.

“I was coming in to take the boards away and had some good jump. He bobbled the puck at the last second and I don’t think he saw me coming at all. It was a shoulder right in his chest. He’s eight feet tall, so it’s not like you could hit him in the head.”
