Canadiens sign forwards Carr, Crisp to entry-level contracts

MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens have signed forwards Daniel Carr and Connor Crisp to entry-level contracts.

Carr signed a two-year deal with the Canadiens. He recently completed his senior season with the Union College Dutchmen, leading the team in scoring en route to an NCAA Division I national championship.

In 39 games with Union, the Sherwood Park, Alta., native recorded 50 points (22 goals, 28 assists) and 28 penalty minutes.

Crisp signed a three-year deal after completing his fourth Ontario Hockey League season with the Sudbury Wolves and then joining the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs for the end of their season.

In 67 regular season games with Sudbury, the Alliston, Ont., native recorded 55 points (28 goals, 27 assists) and 120 penalty minutes. In seven regular season games with Hamilton, the 20-year-old recorded two goals and two penalty minutes.

In 184 career OHL regular season games with the Wolves and Erie Otters, the 6-3, 226-pound forward recorded 97 points (55 goals, 42 assists) and 308 penalty minutes. He was selected by the Canadiens in the third round (71st overall) in the 2013 NHL draft.
