Evander Kane made a healthy scratch for Jets' game at Maple Leafs

TORONTO - The Winnipeg Jets made Evander Kane a healthy scratch Saturday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Kane spent extra time on the ice during the morning skate and then was not out there for pre-game warm-ups at Air Canada Centre.

Winger Devin Setoguchi replaced Kane in the lineup after being a healthy scratch for four of the past five games.

Kane has two goals and eight assists in 18 games since the Olympic break. He has 17 goals and 22 assists in 60 games this season.

No. 1 goaltender Ondrej Pavelec started for the Jets, as coach Paul Maurice said the Leafs and every other team in the playoff race in the Eastern Conference deserved his "best lineup."

Maurice did not reveal his lineup following the morning skate. He told "Hockey Night In Canada" when asked about Kane that it was a "coach's decision."
