NEWARK, N.J. - Jaromir Jagr scored his 693rd career goal, Reid Boucher netted his first in the NHL and the New Jersey Devils beat the Ottawa Senators 5-2 Wednesday night.

Jagr moved past Steve Yzerman and into sole possession of eighth place on the NHL goals list, one behind Mark Messier. The 41-year-old Jagr's first power-play goal of the season gave him a team-leading 12 goals.

Stephen Gionta scored a short-handed goal during his first shift for the Devils (14-15-6) after an 11-game absence because of an ankle injury. Damien Brunner scored in the second and Eric Gelinas tallied in the third for New Jersey.

Martin Brodeur won his 10th game of the year by making 23 saves against Ottawa (14-16-6).

Colin Greening and Milan Michalek scored for Ottawa.

PENGUINS 4, RANGERS 3, SO

NEW YORK (AP)—Brandon Sutter scored in the third period and then rescued the Penguins with the only goal of the shootout to lift Pittsburgh to a victory over the Rangers.

Sutter gave the Penguins a 3-1 lead just 1:01 after Pascal Dupuis snapped a 1-1 tie, but Pittsburgh couldn't hold the edge. It took until the fifth round of the shootout for the deadlock to be broken for good, and the Penguins skated off with their fifth straight victory.

Chris Kunitz had a goal and assist, Sidney Crosby had two assists to increase his NHL-leading points total 49, and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 29 shots.

Mats Zuccarello and Derick Brassard rallied the Rangers late with goals 5:31 apart to tie it with only 1:46 left in regulation.
