Islanders' Frans Nielsen fined $5,000 for slashing Coyotes' Martin Hanzal

NEW YORK, N.Y. - New York Islanders forward Frans Nielsen was fined $5,000 by the NHL on Wednesday for slashing Phoenix Coyotes forward Martin Hanzal on Tuesday night.

Nielsen was assessed a minor penalty for slashing in the third period of New York's 6-1 home victory.
