Kurt Browning, Jamie Sale to judge upcoming season of TV's 'Battle of Blades'

TORONTO - Figure skaters Kurt Browning and Jamie Sale—as well as "Hockey Night in Canada" commentator P.J. Stock—will serve as judges on the upcoming season of CBC-TV's "Battle of the Blades."

The televised competition—which pairs hockey players with figure skaters—returns Sept. 22.

Hosted by CBC sports announcer Ron MacLean, the show aired for three seasons but took a break last year.

CBC says the cast will be revealed online starting Sunday.

The new season will see a change in format, with a combined hour of performance and elimination.

The show's co-creator, Sandra Bezic, previously served as head judge but will now act as executive producer and mentor to the skaters.
