After a disappointing 2012-13 season the Philadelphia Flyers made several changes this summer in an effort to right the ship. One thing they didn’t feel a need to change was their captain, because with Claude Giroux at the helm, it’s likely calmer waters are on the horizon.

But before rejoining the Flyers at training camp, Giroux took his leadership skills to the Allstate All-Canadians Mentorship Program, where he got a taste of life behind the bench. Giroux was one of the special guest coaches during the week-long camp, for the best bantam-aged players in the country.

THN’s Adam Proteau caught up with Giroux at the camp to discuss his involvement in the mentorship program, the Flyers and more.
