If Brett Connolly feels he took a step back by spending this year in the American League you would never know it by his attitude. Excluding a short stint with Canada at the world juniors, Connolly played the entire 2011-12 season with the Tampa Bay Lightning, but entering his sophomore campaign the organization thought it was in his best interest to further develop his game with their AHL affiliate.
