Calgary Flames recall goalie Danny Taylor from AHL's Abbotsford Heat

CALGARY - The Calgary Flames recalled goaltender Danny Taylor from the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League on Sunday.

Calgary No. 1 goalie Miikka Kiprusoff will not travel with the Flames to Dallas for Monday's game against the Stars due to the imminent birth of his second child.

Taylor has appeared in two games (1-1-0) with the Flames this season, including his first NHL win on March 3 against the Vancouver Canucks.

Born in Plymouth, England, but raised in Ottawa, Taylor has backstopped the Flames affiliate in Abbotsford for the past two seasons. In 2012-13, Taylor is first in the AHL with a 1.96 goals-against average and fifth in save percentage at .924. He was originally selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the seventh round (221st overall) of the 2004 NHL draft.

Additionally, the Flames say goaltender Leland Irving had minor elective surgery on March 12. He's expected to return to play within two weeks.
