Wings goalie Jimmy Howard leaves game against Predators in 1st period with upper-body injury

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Detroit Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard left Tuesday night's game against the Nashville Predators with an upper-body injury at 11:22 of the first period.

The team said that he would not return to the game.

He skated toward the Red Wings bench following a shot at the other end of the ice, and he was replaced by backup Jonas Gustavsson.
