Bruins sign forward Jay Pandolfo to 1-year deal

BOSTON - The Boston Bruins have signed forward Jay Pandolfo to a one-year, two-way contract.

The deal that was announced on Tuesday would pay him $600,000 if he is in the NHL and $350,000 in the minor leagues. Pandolfo was placed on waivers, a move that allows the Bruins to send him to Providence of the AHL.

The two-time Stanley Cup champion, a native of suburban Burlington, Mass., has scored 100 goals with 126 assists over 881 games with the New Jersey Devils and New York Islanders.

Pandolfo, 38, went to Boston University before the Devils picked him in the second round of the 1993 draft.

All things considered, how would you rate this NHL season?

“I think when you’re at home the first two games, sometimes you get a little bit too comfortable at home. Then you come on the road, maybe it’s like a rude awakening…We’ve had three series to figure that out, learn it. We definitely want to be better (Monday), especially in the first game on the road.”
