Oilers recall centre VandeVelde from AHL Barons; place Lander on IR

EDMONTON - The Edmonton Oilers recalled centre Chris VandeVelde on Friday from the American Hockey League.

VandeVelde has two goals and 10 points in 38 games for the Oklahoma City Barons. The 25-year-old had a goal in five NHL games last season for the Oilers.

Centre Anton Lander was added to the injured reserve Thursday after blocking a shot with his foot during Wednesday's 3-2 overtime loss to Dallas.

Lander has one point in four games this season for Edmonton (4-3-3).
