Capitals get F Casey Wellman, Panthers obtain C Zach Hamill in swap of minor-leaguers

WASHINGTON - The Washington Capitals have acquired forward Casey Wellman from the Florida Panthers for centre Zach Hamill in a swap of minor-leaguers.

The trade Thursday gives the Capitals the 25-year-old Wellman, who has seven goals and 16 assists this season with San Antonio of the AHL.

Hamill has 11 goals and 11 assists this season with Hershey of the AHL.
