COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed right wing Cam Atkinson on injured reserve, retroactive to Jan. 23.

Atkinson is day-to-day with a lower-body injury sustained during training camp. Coach Todd Richards said Atkinson may be out at least a week or two.

The 5-foot-7, 172-pound native of Riverside, Conn., has one goal in three games this season after playing most of last season with Springfield, Mass., of the American Hockey League. He has appeared in 30 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets the past two seasons, registering eight goals and seven assists.
