There are a handful of players on this year’s Team Canada roster who would likely be in the NHL if the league and the NHLPA weren’t locked in a senseless labor dispute. While forwards Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Jonathan Huberdeau and Mark Scheifele have been receiving most of the press, there is a strong possibility defenseman Dougie Hamilton would be playing in the big league this season as well.

Instead, Hamilton has been a steady force on Canada's backend and his opening goal versus the Russians helped the team go undefeated in the round robin.

THN’s Ryan Kennedy caught up with Hamilton to discuss team chemistry headed into the medal round, Team Canada’s defensive makeup and more.
