VIDEO: 30 teams in 30 days - San Jose Sharks

Zoom Image

Have the San Jose Sharks already missed their window of opportunity? In recent years, the Sharks have been a perennial contender, winning four division titles since the lockout. But the team has been labeled as soft come playoff time because of its inability to get over the hump and into the Cup final. In two appearances in the Western Conference final, San Jose one win.

And as its stars age, San Jose’s fortunes fade. The team was knocked out in five games by the upstart St. Louis Blues, which to many signaled a passing of the powerhouse torch. So does this team have enough talent and fire left to go the distance?

Today’s Puck Panel looks at both sides of the Sharks and explains why THN pegged them to finish seventh in the Western Conference in 2012-13.
