The Carolina Hurricanes made perhaps the biggest splash of all this off-season, by acquiring Jordan Staal from the Pittsburgh Penguins to join his brother in the Southeast. But GM Jim Rutherford didn't stop there. He pursued Washington free agent Alexander Semin and inked the Russian to a one-year pact. After missing the playoffs by 10 points and the division crown by 12, will these upgrades be enough to launch the Hurricanes back up the charts?
