When Tomas Jurco first arrived in North America to play for the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec League, there were concerns about his consistency. But after three solid years of major junior it’s safe to say those fears have been laid to rest.

Jurco signed his first pro contract in August of 2012 and will likely spend this year in the American League with Detroit’s affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins. The Red Wings are known for giving their prospects plenty of time to develop, but with Jurco’s tremendous combination of skill and speed don’t be surprised to see him in the NHL sooner rather then later.

THN's Ryan Kennedy caught up with Jurco at the NHLPA Rookie Showcase in Toronto.
