Canadiens forward Rene Bourque out 8-12 weeks after having abdominal surgery

MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens forward Rene Bourque will be sidelined eight to 12 weeks after undergoing abdominal surgery on Wednesday.

Bourque suffered the injury during his off-season training.

The 30-year-old winger had five goals and three assists in 38 games last season.
