TORONTO - The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed veteran forward Keith Aucoin and defenceman Simon Gysbers each to a one-year contract.
The 33-year-old Aucoin spilt last season between the Capitals and their AHL affiliate, registering 11 points in 27 games with Washington.
He also appeared in 14 playoff games for the Capitals.
Aucoin ranked second in the AHL with 59 assists in 41 games with the Hershey Bears and was tied for fourth in points with 70.
Gysbers played 68 games for the AHL's Toronto Marlies last season. He posted five goals and 24 assists with 20 penalty minutes and a plus-13 rating.
The 6-4, 200-pound native of Richmond Hill, Ont., ranked first among Marlies'defencemen in goals, assists and points in the regular season.
He also appeared in 17 playoff games for the Marlies with one goal, an assist and eight penalty minutes.
