Canadiens sign defenceman St. Denis to one year, two-way contract

MONTREAL - Defenceman Frederic St. Denis has signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Montreal Canadiens.

The 26-year-old, who was restricted free agent before the deal, recorded one goal and two assists in 17 games with Montreal last season, averaging 14:31 minutes per game while posting a plus-minus of plus-3.

St. Denis spent most of the season with the Hamilton Bulldogs, Montreal's American Hockey League affiliate, where he had three goals and 25 assists in 58 games.

The five-foot-11, 182-pound St. Denis signed as a free agent with Montreal in 2010.
