Smith, Hanzal, Korpikoski miss practice for Coyotes, status unclear for Game 3 against Chicago

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Phoenix Coyotes goalie Mike Smith, centre Martin Hanzal and left wing Lauri Korpikoski did not practice with the team on Monday.

Phoenix coach Dave Tippett would not say if they would be available for Game 3 of the Coyotes' playoff series against Chicago on Tuesday night, only that they were being evaluated.

Smith was injured in the second period of Phoenix's 4-3 overtime loss in Game 2 on Saturday when he was struck on the head by the shoulder of Chicago's Andrew Shaw. Smith lay on the ice for five minutes but finished the game.

Hanzal went off in the first period with what appeared to be a lower-body injury and Korpikoski went out in the third after being checked hard into the boards.

The series is tied 1-all.
