Sidney Crosby's return to the NHL attracts over two million television viewers

TORONTO - More than two million Canadians tuned in to watch Sidney Crosby's return to the NHL, TSN announced Friday.

Crosby's return to the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup Thursday night attracted an average audience of 547,000 viewers on TSN2, according to overnight data from BBM Canada. That makes it the second-highest audience ever on the TSN's secondary feed.

Overall, more than 2.2 million Canadians tuned in to watch some, or all, of the Penguins' 5-2 victory over the New York Rangers. Crosby had two assists in the contest.

Crosby was returning after a three-month layoff after suffering his second concussion in less than a year in December.

All things considered, how would you rate this NHL season?

“I think when you’re at home the first two games, sometimes you get a little bit too comfortable at home. Then you come on the road, maybe it’s like a rude awakening…We’ve had three series to figure that out, learn it. We definitely want to be better (Monday), especially in the first game on the road.”
