Ht: 6-foot-2 Wt: 195 pounds
DOB: March 18, 1986 In: Marblehead, MA
First Hockey Memory: "Probably skating on the pond back home in Boston with my brother and his friends. It would get pretty cold there - we had two ponds in town. So we'd go there and play a little bit of pond hockey. I remember pushing the crate and learning how to skate."
Nicknames: "Right now, ‘Schneids,’ ‘Schneedly.’ In college I had ‘Schneidzilla,’ ‘Big Red.’"
First Famous Player You Met: "It was Ray Bourque. His son and I are the same age, we actually know each other a bit. We played together a lot in Boston. I remember running into him when I was seven or eight at a sporting goods store, just near home. I was too embarrassed to ask for his autograph, so my dad did it for me."
Hockey Inspirations: "My older brother, again, because he was the first one to play in our family. And I'm pretty sure I started playing because of him. So he got me into it and he was two years older than me. So it was a good enough gap to get some of his gear a year late. We played together a couple of times and I think he's the real reason why I got into hockey."
Last Book Read: "Was World War II, zombie book."
Current Car: "4 Runner."
Greatest Sports Moment: "I'd say playing in the Stanley Cup final last year."
Most Painful Moment: "Losing Stanley Cup final last year."
Favorite Uniforms: "In the league? Other than ours? I think the Blackhawks is a pretty good uniform. People might not like hearing that because we're rivals, but I think they're pretty good looking jerseys."
Favorite Arena: "Other than home I would say San Jose. San Jose's a lot of fun."
Closest Hockey Friends: "Some guys here, Andy Roberts, a teammate of mine, we played together in college. A couple guys in Manitoba who I spent a few years with in the minors. Bolduc, who was here for a bit too. Probably two of my closest buddies in hockey."
Funniest Players Encountered: "Raffi Torres was a pretty funny guy last year."
Toughest Competitors Encountered: "I'd say Kevin Bieksa and Ryan Kesler."
Most Memorable Save: "Great question. To be honest, I haven't really had that one real defining save in a big moment. So I'm still waiting for it I think."
Embarrassing Hockey Memory: "Probably any time I get pulled, yanked out of a game, a little bit early, is always embarrassing."
Favorite Sport Outside Hockey: "I love baseball, I used to play baseball. But I'm also a big football fan. So I'll say both of those two.”
Last Vacation: "At the end of last year we went to the Bahamas for a week."
Strangest Game: "We had some wacky games. Maybe the one last year against San Jose where Kevin (Bieksa) scored on that overtime-winning goal. And the puck just sort of bounced to him and no one knew what was going on. That was a pretty strange game."
Favorite Players To Watch: "I like watching guys who play the game hard and play the game well. Guys like Toews for Chicago, Bergeron in Boston. Goalies - guys who play similar to how Luongo and I play, guys like Hiller or Halak. Guys who are kind of trained the same way we are."
Personality Qualities Most Admired: "I think just genuine people, they are who they are, they don't pretend to be somebody they're not. And they're just good people to talk to and they're interested in others and what they have to say and do. I think that's what makes a good locker room. I think we have a lot of those guys on our team, who are just pretty honest, genuine, who really enjoy playing with one another."
