Dallas all-star centre Jamie Benn leaves game in 2nd period with knee injury

DALLAS - Dallas centre Jamie Benn left the Stars' game Thursday night against the Calgary Flames with a left knee injury and did not return.

Benn, Dallas' lone all-star selection, checked Calgary defenceman Mark Giordano along the boards in the Flames' zone with just under 12 minutes left in the second period. Benn was struck in the knee by Giordano's skate.

Benn, the Stars' leader with 49 points (17 goals and 32 assists), left the ice and limped down the tunnel to the locker room, done for the night.
