Toronto Maple Leafs recall defenceman Jake Gardiner from AHL Marlies

TORONTO - Jake Gardiner is back with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Leafs recalled the defenceman from the AHL's Toronto Marlies on Monday. Gardiner was assigned to the minor-league affiliate on Sunday and played in the club's 2-1 loss to the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Gardiner has registered 10 assists and averaged more than 20 minutes of ice time in 37 games with the Maple Leafs this season.
