Canucks goalie Luongo set to reach games played milestone against Wild

VANCOUVER - Vancouver Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo was set to reach a personal milestone Wednesday night.

He was expected to get the start in Vancouver's home game against the Minnesota Wild at Rogers Arena. It would be Luongo's 700th career regular-season NHL game.

"It kind of feels weird," Luongo said after the morning skate. "It doesn't feel like I've played too many games. But I've been in the league a long time."

The 32-year-old Montreal native is 23rd on the all-time games played list among goaltenders. He is well behind front-runner Martin Brodeur of the New Jersey Devils, who has played in 1,155 games entering play Wednesday night.

Luongo struggled early this season but has played well of late, helping the Canucks move atop the Northwest Division.
