Canada eliminated from Spengler Cup with 3-2 shootout loss to Wolfsburg

DAVOS, Switzerland - Canada is heading home early from the Spengler Cup.

Kai Hospelt scored twice during the shootout Thursday as Wolfsburg Grizzly Adams pulled out a 3-2 victory over Canada in the quarter-finals.

Goaltender Daniar Dshunsussow had a strong game for the German club team with 27 saves in regulation and three more in the shootout.

John Laliberte and Christopher Fischer scored in regulation for Wolfsburg, which moves on to face Riga in the semifinals.

Domenic Pittis and Kurtis McLean replied for Canada.

Marty Turco finished with 29 saves.
