Injury-riddled Buffalo Sabres recall top prospect Zack Kassian from AHL

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Sabres top prospect Zack Kassian has been recalled from Rochester of the AHL and is expected to make his NHL debut Friday night when Buffalo plays at Columbus.

Kassian, the Sabres' first-round pick in 2009 (13th overall), leads Rochester with 14 points in 18 games. He was recalled after Brad Boyes went down with a right leg injury in Wednesday's shootout loss to Boston.

The injury-riddled Sabres are without seven regulars: forwards Boyes, Tyler Ennis (ankle), Patrick Kaleta (lower body), and Cody McCormick (upper body); and defencemen Mike Weber (upper body) and Tyler Myers (broken wrist); and goalie Ryan Miller (concussion).
