The Hockey News player of the week for the period of Nov. 14-20, 2011 is Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price.
In his first game of the week, Price turned aside 30 of 32 shots agsint the Buffalo Sabres en route to a 3-2 shootout win and those were the only markers he allowed on the week.
Price followed up with a 25-save shutout over the Carolina Hurricanes and a 17-save shutout of the New York Rangers.
After a slow start, Price is back amongst the league’s elite with a 2.16 GAA and .917 SP. He stands with an 8-6-3 record as the Canadiens sit with 21 points, tied with New Jersey and Washington for ninth in the East, one point behind Ottawa and Boston.
