Player of the Week - Oct. 31

The Hockey News player of the week for the period of Oct. 24-30, 2011 is Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price.

After a slow start, Price backstopped the Habs to three consecutive victories, posting a 1.33 GAA and .950 save percentage in the process.

In the first match of the week, Price stymied the Philadelphia Flyers by turning aside 20 shots in a 5-1 victory that was Montreal’s first home win of the season.

Price later stopped 29 shots against the Boston Bruins in a 2-1 win and turned side another 26 shots two nights later as the Habs won both ends of a home-and-home with their Black and Gold rivals.

For the season, Price stands 4-4-2 with a 2.59 GAA and .900 SP.
