Another week in this NHL season is in the books, so here's a look at the latest rumors of interest from the hockey blogosphere.

ALFREDSSON TO CALGARY?

Reports Calgary Flames GM Jay Feaster isn’t willing to wait for his team to play its way out of a funk and the fact teams have shown interest in left winger Rene Bourque created a flurry of speculation about the team amongst rumor bloggers.

As the season goes on, it looks as though there will be frequent rumors linking the Flames with Ottawa Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson as Senators management may consider that option near the trade deadline.

Alfredsson, 38, has a $4.9 million cap hit for this season and next. He lacks a no-trade clause, so the Senators could shop him if they wanted to.

Given Alfredsson has been loyal to the Senators, the only NHL team he's played for, and the belief he's headed for a front office job with the club when his playing days are over, it's unlikely ‘Alfie’ will become available for the Flames or anyone else.

CORY SCHNEIDER TO PHOENIX?

There are suggestions the Vancouver Canucks will ship backup Corey Schneider to the Phoenix Coyotes in return for “some toughness” to help Vancouver break out of it early season slump and provide the Coyotes with a quality starting goalie.

This would be a surprise because Mike Smith, whom they acquired via free agency this summer, has started strong. In his first four games this season, Smith has a 1-2-1 record, 2.50 GAA and .920 SP.

After a 6-3 season opening loss to San Jose, Smith gave up only four goals in his following three games and earned praise from coach Dave Tippett following a tough 2-0 loss to the LA Kings.

Thankfully, the origins of this rumor didn’t include Coyotes holdout Kyle Turris as part of the return for the Canucks.

LADD TO BUFFALO?

This rumor explores the Buffalo Sabres’ interest in Winnipeg Jets left winger Andrew Ladd, though the Jets aren't shopping Ladd.

Jets management would love to bring in a first line center such as Derek Roy, but they're certainly not going to part with Ladd, their team captain, to do it.

This rumor also doesn't make any sense from the Sabres standpoint.

They're off to a great start, with five victories in their first seven games, and already have considerable depth on the left side with Thomas Vanek, Tyler Ennis and Nathan Gerbe.

Rookie center Luke Adam is filling in for Jochen Hecht, who remains sidelined with a head injury.  Adam could slide over to left wing when Hecht returns, or Hecht could move to left side.

The Sabres certainly wouldn't consider moving Roy without at least getting a top line center in return.
