Thomas's daughter contends with Rogers Arena fans, says "they swore a lot"

VANCOUVER - While Tim Thomas was getting pestered by the Vancouver Canucks on the ice Wednesday night, his daughter Kiley was contending with their fans in the Rogers Arena stands.

The 10-year-old was captured on Hockey Night in Canada's cameras frequently, cheering on her dad on as the Boston Bruins blanked the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 in the Stanley Cup final.

She the fans' treatment of her was "not very good.”

"They swore a lot," she said. "But they were super-nice after."

Kiley, who is also a goaltender with the Lynnfield Ice Cats in a Boston-area community league, had a better time with the Boston fans sitting behind her and her mom Melissa.

"They were mostly Vancouver fans but there were some people behind us that knew my dad and we did some high-fives and everything," said Kiley, the eldest of three Thomas kids.

Kiley made the trip to Vancouver after watching Thomas play some games in earlier playoff rounds against Tampa Bay. She has become used to being on television.

"It felt good," she said. "A couple weeks ago, I was on TV during another game.…My dad was just doing an interview after a game and I came out and I was waving a flag like this and (a Boston TV station) interviewed me," she said, demonstrating.

Thomas, who looked around for his family in post-game interviews on the ice and told reporters he was "gone" as soon as he saw them, didn't realize Kiley had received so much coverage during the game.

"I'm not surprised," he said. "She's a talker."
