Toronto Marlboros win OHL Cup 5-3 for all-Ontario minor midget championship

The Toronto Marlboros scored three goals in the third period including the game-winner with just 20 seconds to play to earn a thrilling 5-3 comeback win over the Don Mills Flyers to win the 2011 OHL Cup.

Aaron Berisha was the hero for the Marlies with three points and the winning shot that sailed upstairs to beat Flyers goaltender Charlie Graham at 14:40 of the third period for his second goal of the game and eighth of the tournament sending the Marlies bench into a frenzy.

The Marlies captured their third minor midget title in seven years with previous wins in 2009 and 2005, and appeared in the championship final for the fifth straight year.

The Marlies finished an exciting OHL Cup tournament with a perfect 7-0-0 record.  The championship final was played at Herbert Carnegie Centennial Arena in North York, Ont., before a crowd of nearly 1,000 people and was broadcast live for the first time on Rogers Sportsnet Ontario.
