The Hockey News player of the week for the period of March 7 to March 13 is Vancouver Canucks left winger Daniel Sedin.
Although his team ranks first in the league with 99 points, the Ornskoldsvik, Swe. native hasn’t slowed his production. With four goals and nine points on the week, Sedin continues to sit first in points with 89 and second in goals with 37. (Brother Henrik had a fantastic week, too, recording seven assists and eight points.)
Daniel Sedin’s three-point night against the Calgary Flames on Saturday was extra special. The 30-year-old’s second goal of the night established a new career-high of 37 – he scored 36 in 2006-07.
He’s a plus-25 in 70 games, has hit a new career-high in points and is on pace for another six goals and eight assists for a total of 103 points on the season.
