Stars agree to two-way contract with Williams, place Barch on injured reserve

DALLAS - Free agent forward Jason Williams has agreed to a two-way contract with the Dallas Stars.

Williams, part of a Stanley Cup championship with Detroit in 2002, played 44 games for Detroit last season.

The Stars put Krys Barch on injured reserve Saturday because of a scratched cornea and fractured orbital bone sustained in a fight on Feb. 3 at Boston. He's joined by right winger Adam Burish, who hurt his face that night in a fight-marred game.

Dallas also assigned Francis Wathier to the Texas Stars in the AHL.

Williams' contract is for US$500,000 in the NHL and $105,000 in the minors. He could play for the Stars on Sunday against Columbus.
