Former Balsillie frontman Richard Rodier among new hires by NHLPA

TORONTO - The National Hockey League Players' Association has beefed up its office staff with four new hires, including former Jim Balsillie frontman Richard Rodier.
Also joining the union are Colin A. Campbell as director of corporate sponsorships, and Robert DeGregory and Maria Dennis as associate counsel.
Rodier, who was front and centre during Balsillie's bids for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Nashville Predators and Phoenix Coyotes, will serve as a lawyer and economic consultant.
"I am very pleased that Colin, Robert, Maria and Richard are joining us," executive director Donald Fehr said in a release this week. "Each of them brings experience and skills that will be of benefit to the players as we go forward."
Rodier's duties will include helping the NHLPA in reviewing and analyzing "certain legal, economic and business issues affecting the sport," according to the release.
