Bruins add Simek and Zimmerman in deals with Tampa Bay and Florida

BOSTON - The Boston Bruins have acquired forward Juraj Simek and defenceman Sean Zimmerman in separate trades involving minor leaguers.

The players acquired in Thursday's deals were assigned to Providence of the AHL.

The Bruins sent forward Levi Nelson to the Tampa Bay Lightning for Simek, who had three goals and six assists in 21 games with Norfolk of the AHL.

They picked up Zimmerman and a seventh-round pick in next year's draft from the Florida Panthers for defenceman Jeff LoVecchio and forward Jordan Knackstedt. Zimmerman played in seven games this season with Rochester of the American Hockey League.
