No more swagger

Mike Birkbeck, Uxbridge, Ont

Sportswriters, please take note: Please, please, please, stop using the word "Swagger."

I must have heard it a 1,000 times on TV throughout last year's Stanley Cup playoffs. And now, this ridiculous word is littering my THN subscription.

You will never catch me after a game of pickup, turning to my buddy saying, "Hey Stevie... you played with a lot of Swagger tonight!"

It doesn't belong in the hockey dressing room just like it doesn't belong in THN.

Webster's is rife with adjectives. Surely there is a better word than "swagger" to describe the greatest game on earth.

Pass the word off to something like Dancing With The Stars or speed walking!
