Thank you, Adam Proteau, for your response regarding my question about Mike Comrie wearing No 19 as opposed to No. 89 (Ask Adam, Nov. 1).
However, I just wanted you to know that two incorrect assumptions were made. First, you assumed that I was considering Sidney Crosby an egomaniac, which I was not. If the No. 19 had been issued for the reason I had questioned, I would have assumed it was the organization's decision and not Crosby's.
Second, you assumed that because I live in “Washington Capitals Territory” that the Penguins, and hence Crosby, are hated by me. Again, wrong!
I happen to admire Crosby not only as a great hockey player, but a fine young man as well. He is an asset to a sport I have followed since the mid-1950s.
