BUFFALO, N.Y. - Buffalo Sabres top prospect Zack Kassian has had an assault charge dropped after completing 25 hours of community service in his hometown of Windsor, Ont.
An Ontario Provincial Court official says the charge, in connection to a bar fight in the spring, was withdrawn Wednesday. Kassian's lawyer Pat Ducharme was not immediately available for comment.
Kassian is Buffalo's 2009 first-round draft pick and currently plays for the OHL Windsor Spitfires.
He was charged with assault after punching a man, chipping the man's tooth, at a bar in Windsor in May.
