Bulldogs name defenceman Henry captain, AHL team also names 4 alternates

HAMILTON - Defenceman Alex Henry will wear the 'C' for the American Hockey League's Hamilton Bulldogs this season.

Henry, 30, had 13 points (zero goals, 13 assists) and 154 penalty minutes in 68 games last season. The six-foot-six 230-pounder added four points (2-2) in 19 playoff games.

The club also announced Friday that forwards David Desharnais and Ryan White will serve as alternate captains for home games.

Defenceman Mathieu Carle and forward Ben Maxwell will serve as alternates for road games.

The Bulldogs will play their regular season opener later Friday at Rochester. Hamilton's home opener is scheduled for Saturday night against Toronto.
