Wings and Hawks should honor Probert

Todd Ritchie, Windsor, Ont.

I grew as a big Bob Probert fan and like many was deeply saddened by his sudden and untimely death.

Bob put all his blood and sweat into a 16-year NHL career, nine with Detroit and seven in Chicago.

I really can't believe neither team has retired his No. 24. It’s kind of ridiculous seeing Ruslan Salei for the Wings and Nick Boynton for the Hawks wearing Probie's number.

I can only hope that someone will make the right decision and honor the toughest player to ever dawn these two jerseys.
