Canucks prospect Cody Hodgson may miss pre-season with back injury

The Vancouver Canucks announced via the team Twitter page that Cody Hodgson may not participate in the team’s training camp or pre-season games because of back problems. They also indicated the problem doesn’t require surgery.

Hodgson, who was drafted 10th overall by the Canucks in 2008, missed all but 13 regular season games last season for the Ontario League’s Brampton Battalion. He has not been at Vancouver’s rookie camp, which is currently in session. He has been struggling with back problems since sustaining the injury while training in 2009.
