DENVER - Restricted free-agent centre Peter Mueller re-signed with the Colorado Avalanche on Friday, agreeing to a two-year contract.
Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
The 22-year-old Minnesotan, acquired from Phoenix in March, had nine goals and 11 assists in 15 games for the Avalanche after managing only four goals and 13 assists in 54 games for the Coyotes.
Mueller scored in each of his first seven games with Colorado, joining Theo Fleury as the only players in franchise history to record points in their first seven games with the team. Mueller missed the final four games of the regular season and six playoff games because of a concussion.
Selected eighth overall in the 2006 draft, Mueller has 48 goals and 79 assists in 222 career NHL games with Phoenix and Colorado.
