The Nashville Predators have signed defenseman Cody Franson to a two-year, $1.6 million contract extension.
Last season, the 23-year-old played 61 games for Nashville, recording six goals, 21 points and a plus-15 rating. He also played in four playoff games, where he posted one asisst.
Franson was originally drafted in the third round (79th overall) by Nashville in 2005. Last season was the first in the NHL for the Salmon Arm, B.C., native.
