With the NHL reviewing rule changes at the research and development camp, I would like the rules committee to revisit hand passes in the defensive zone.
I do not think glove passes should be allowed anywhere on the ice or at any time.
I know the rule was implemented to prevent teams from causing play stoppages because they were either tired or hemmed in their zone, but I propose the NHL use the same ruling as for icing.
If a team commits a hand pass in the defensive zone, the play is stopped immediately and a defensive zone faceoff will occur and the defending team will not be allowed a line change.
This will bring more continuity and integrity to the game in that players may never pass the puck to teammate using their hands.

“I think when you’re at home the first two games, sometimes you get a little bit too comfortable at home. Then you come on the road, maybe it’s like a rude awakening…We’ve had three series to figure that out, learn it. We definitely want to be better (Monday), especially in the first game on the road.”
