CHICAGO - The Chicago Blackhawks have re-signed veteran defenceman Nick Boynton to a one-year deal.

Boynton, acquired from Anaheim in a trade last March, played seven regular-season games and three games in the Stanley Cup finals for Chicago against the Philadelphia Flyers.

He was on the ice when Patrick Kane scored the winning goal in Game 6.

Boynton was the Boston Bruins' first-round pick in 1999 and has also played with Phoenix and Florida in his 10-year career.
