Josh, Flin Flon, Man.
I'm sick of these front-loaded manipulations of the salary cap.
If a team wants to shell out $10 million to a greedy Ilya Kovalchuk, then by all means let them, but they better be able to pay him.
What is the point of the salary cap if Kovalchuk makes $11.5 million and just more than half of that salary is the cap hit? Pure manipulation.
The player’s cap hit should be what their salary is; if you want to have a $10 million dollar player on your team, then be prepared to take the punishment that comes along with it.
