Detroit Red Wings sign minor-league forward Jamie Tardif to one-year deal

DETROIT - The Detroit Red Wings have signed 25-year-old forward Jamie Tardif to a one-year contract.

The team announced the deal Tuesday but did not disclose terms.

Tardif spent the last four seasons with the American Hockey League's Grand Rapids Griffins. In 2009-10, he scored 16 goals and had 17 assists.

The Calgary Flames selected the six-foot, 205-pounder in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2003 draft.

Tardif spent five seasons with the Ontario Hockey League's Peterborough Petes before joining the pro ranks.
